Jungle Creates Sweet Sounds for 4seven ‘Tweesers’

Twitter-fed idents for new TV channel set to music and sound from Jungle
Jungle Creates Sweet Sounds for 4seven ‘Tweesers’
Jungle’s Mike Bamford and Chris Turner teamed up for Channel 4’s new 4seven ‘tweesers’, as an example of the company’s music and sound design working together in one piece.

Asked to create an on-brand sound bed combining music and sound design that was relaxed, organic and natural, these stunning spots use soft, muted instrumentation and gentle clockwork sounds to guide the movement of the tweets. However, because the timing and movement of the text would be different for each ‘tweeser’, they let the flickering sounds flow and wash to create a pulsing texture rather than sync to any particular movement.

With studios full of keen composers, music from three different people was chosen.

4seven is a new channel that shows the best and most talked about C4 shows from the last seven days. The tweesers reflect the popularity of shows by measuring the reaction to programmes as shown in newspapers, on-line, and via social-media such as Facebook and Twitter. Viewer’s reaction and comments are collated via Twitter and shown as interstitials in and out of ad-breaks.
